About VEZBA

VEZBA was founded by Daniel Ruseski, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with over 12 years of experience working across community-based rehabilitation, injury recovery and long-term capacity building.

A graduate of the University of Sydney, Daniel has built his career supporting people to rebuild movement, strength and confidence following injury, illness and functional decline. His work spans NDIS, aged care, injury rehabilitation and community reablement – always with a strong focus on function and independence.

Daniel’s approach to rehabilitation is shaped not only by clinical training, but by lived experience. At 21 years old, he sustained a T12 spinal fracture, giving him firsthand insight into the physical, emotional and long-term challenges of recovery. This experience fundamentally changed how he delivers care – grounding his practice in empathy, patience and real-world outcomes that actually translate into daily life.

VEZBA was created to address a gap Daniel repeatedly saw in traditional rehabilitation models: programs that worked in clinics but failed to carry over into real environments. From the beginning, VEZBA was designed as a community-based rehabilitation and reablement provider – delivering care in the places people actually live, move and participate.

The name VEZBA itself reflects this philosophy. While Daniel was studying Exercise Physiology, his Macedonian grandfather would often ask what he was learning. After hearing the explanation, he simply replied, “Good – you teach people how to vezba.”
Vezba is the Macedonian word for exercise.

The business is a tribute to Daniel’s very first client, his 93-year-old grandfather – who still lives independently at home, gardens regularly and walks to the local shops. He continues to see Daniel fortnightly, a reminder that effective rehabilitation is about longevity, dignity and independence, not short-term fixes.

Daniel remains actively involved in clinical work, continuing to see clients while also mentoring and training every Exercise Physiologist at VEZBA. Each clinician is personally trained by Daniel to ensure VEZBA’s values, standards and function-first approach are consistently delivered across all clients.

His commitment to professional development remains ongoing through regular conference attendance, continued education and staying current with evidence-based practice – ensuring VEZBA continues to evolve without losing its core principles.

At its heart, VEZBA reflects Daniel’s belief that rehabilitation should support independence, dignity and long-term confidence – not just exercises performed in a clinic.

People first

We work with people, not diagnoses or funding categories. Care is respectful, individualised and human.

Function over form

We prioritise movement and strength that supports everyday life — not exercises that look impressive but don’t translate.

Our values

Consistency matters

Clients should receive the same standard of care regardless of who they see. Systems, mentoring and standards protect this.

Evidence over ego

Clinical decisions are guided by evidence, experience and good judgement — not trends or shortcuts.

Long-term thinking

We focus on sustainable outcomes that support independence over time, not quick fixes.

Our team

VEZBA’s team is made up of clinicians and support staff who share a commitment to high-quality, community-based rehabilitation.

Every Exercise Physiologist at VEZBA is trained directly within our functional rehabilitation framework to ensure:

  • Clear assessments and goal setting

  • Safe, progressive program design

  • Professional, respectful communication

  • Consistent standards of care across all services

We value collaboration, mentoring and continuous learning to ensure clients receive reliable, high-quality support — regardless of who they work with.
